Assignment / Project Number 07
Graphing: Column Charts and Pie Charts
How is this project graded?
This project, like the others, is graded on the basis of a maximum ten points.
Remember the major goal for the project was to learn to do column graphs and pie charts effectively. A minor goal was to learn about "discontinuous ranges" -- highlighting a group of cells that are not all next to one another.
There were several items that the project called for which may have caused deductions from the ten-point maximum:
|
One of the graphs (the instructions said the pie chart) had to be on a separate page. |
1 point deduction. |
|
One of the graphs (the instructions said the column graph) had to be on the same sheet as the data. |
1 point deduction. |
|
No Labels on the X-axis of the column graph. |
1 point deduction. |
|
No Labels on the segments of the pie chart. |
1 point deduction. |
|
The columns for adjacent years had to be next to one another on the column graph, the rows versus columns buttons in step 2 of the graphing shortcut. |
1 point deduction. |
|
No demonstration that you could deal with discontinuous ranges. |
1 point deduction. |
You needed to turn in the following to the instructor on the date this
assignment is due (check the class schedule):
1) PRINTOUT #1: A printed copy of your spreadsheet, showing the
data, the column chart,
and the pie chart. (The pie chart should be on a
separate page.).
2) PRINTOUT #2: None.
3) DISK FILE: A copy of the disk file on which you have saved your spreadsheet.
The name of the file on the disk should be
"enrollment.xls"
The label on the disk should have YOUR NAME,
and the words:
ASSIGNMENT #07 -- COLUMN AND PIE CHARTS
4) OTHER: The above items are all that is required for this
assignment.
