Cross Registration Guidelines

Current  Cross Registration Guidelines
The cross registration agreement is a cooperative arrangement permitting full-time, matriculated, undergraduate students at Plattsburgh State to cross register for a maximum of two courses per year at Clinton Community College or Empire State College. Cross registration enrollments at these colleges must be in courses not available through Plattsburgh. This program is available during the fall and spring semesters only. Plattsburgh students who plan to cross register must pay full-time fees and register for at least half of their academic load at Plattsburgh. No extra tuition charge is assessed, but students are responsible for any fees that may be required by the host institution for a particular course. Credits and grades earned through cross registration are recorded on the academic record; however, grades are not calculated into the grade point average. Only 67 credits, including cross registration credits, will be permitted from a two-year institution toward a Plattsburgh degree program. Students must seek prior approval to cross register. Cross Registration forms may be obtained at Plattsburgh's Registrar's Office, Kehoe 306.

Proposed  Cross Registration Guidelines
A cross registration agreement exists between Plattsburgh State University and Clinton Community College and Empire State College.  This agreement is a cooperative arrangement permitting full-time, matriculated, undergraduate students at Plattsburgh State to cross register for a maximum of one course per semester at Clinton Community College or Empire State College. This program is available during the fall and spring semesters only. Students are not to exceed a total of 18 hours per semester without approval.

Cross registration enrollments at these colleges must be in courses not available at Plattsburgh State during the semester of cross registration.  Plattsburgh students who plan to cross register must pay full-time fees and register for at least 12 credit hours at Plattsburgh.  Students are responsible for any additional fees that may be required by the host institution for a particular course.  Credits and grades earned through cross registration are recorded on the academic record as transfer credit and are not calculated into the grade point average.  Only 67 credits from a two-year institution, including cross registration credits, will be applied toward a Plattsburgh degree program.  Each course taken through this process must have a minimum grade of 2.0 (C) in order to transfer.  Students are required to have prior approval to cross register.
